There’s something really special about stepping into someone’s story right where it’s unfolding—and that’s exactly what it felt like photographing Skye Flower Field. Tucked away in Hurst, Texas, this backyard flower farm isn’t just growing blooms—it’s growing a life full of intention, creativity, and heart.

Shannon and Shawn Boone started Skye Flower Field back in 2018, and what they’ve built since then is nothing short of dreamy. Think rows of homegrown flowers, bees buzzing in the background, chickens roaming nearby, and a vegetable garden that would make any homesteader swoon. It’s the kind of setup that makes you pause and think, Wait, people really live like this? (Yes. Yes, they do—and it’s beautiful.)

Their goal for this branding session was to lean into the authenticity of their craft—and honestly, we didn’t have to fake a thing. Every petal, flower wagon, shears, sun-drenched row of blooms was the real deal. Shannon has this natural creative eye, effortlessly arranging stems like she’s painting with flowers, while Shawn—who tends to the farm full-time—keeps everything running smoothly with pure dedication.

Together, they’re raising flowers, bees, vegetables, chickens, and two amazing kids. And somehow, in between market days at Clearfork and designing wedding florals, they still radiate the kind of joy that only comes from doing what you love.

We started right there on the farm—from sunlit headshots in the flower rows to real, working moments: snipping stems, collecting buckets of blooms, checking in on the chickens. The vibe was relaxed, earthy, and true to who they are. No pretense. Just two people living out their passion and inviting me into the beauty of it.

Next, we made our way to the studio to capture the more refined side of their craft—still rooted in nature, but with a soft, elegant twist. Bathed in clean, natural light, the space was the perfect canvas for Shannon to work her magic. She effortlessly designed a stunning table arrangement (like, blink-and-it’s-magazine-worthy), and we captured quiet, intentional moments that helped round out the full story of Skye Flower Field

Whether you’ve seen their blooms at the Clearfork Farmers Market or walked down the aisle holding one of their bouquets, you’ve likely felt the heart behind their work. Because when something is grown with care, you can always tell.

Shannon and Shawn, thank you for letting me into your world for a day. It was magic—the muddy-shoes, fresh-air, flower-filled kind.
