If there were ever a perfect way to kick off this new chapter in branding photography, working with Katelyn Holbrook was it. Truly, she set the bar sky-high. As one of my very first branding clients, her session didn’t just mark a beginning—it defined the kind of stories I want to tell: honest, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in the real stuff.
Katelyn has this rare, gentle magic about her. She makes people feel seen—like truly seen—and she captures connection in a way that feels effortless, personal, and incredibly warm. So naturally, when it came to her own branding shoot, our mission was simple: reflect all that heart. We wanted images that felt like her—fun, thoughtful, a little whimsical, and totally authentic.
One of the standout pieces of her work is her beloved “Petite Personalities” series. If you haven’t seen these portraits yet, stop what you’re doing and go look—because wow. Shot in timeless black and white, they capture kids just as they are: goofy grins, serious stares, sweet quirks, and all. No forced poses, no cookie-cutter smiles. Just pure, unfiltered personality—and it’s magic.
And the studio where it all happens? Get this: it’s a repurposed chicken coop. Yes, you read that right. Nestled on her land in Canton, Texas, this sun-drenched little space is as charming and full of character as the work created inside it. It’s cozy, welcoming, and infused with the same energy Katelyn brings to every session.
We kicked things off inside the studio, capturing her in her zone, surrounded by the little details that make her brand so uniquely hers. Then we stepped outside into what she lovingly calls the “family compound”—a gorgeous, peaceful stretch of land shared with her loved ones. It’s the kind of place that feels like a deep exhale. Quiet, grounded, and brimming with heart—just like Katelyn’s work.
Beyond “Petite Personalities,” Katelyn also photographs families and newborns across East Texas and the Dallas area. Katelyn juggles a lot—running her own business while raising two little ones—and somehow still manages to make everyone around her feel completely at ease. Back in 2024, I had the joy of being on the other side of Katelyn’s lens for my own newborn session—and let me tell you, she’s every bit as wonderful as you’d hope. As a former client myself, I can say with full confidence: you’re in the best hands.
